TW Thanksgiving 2025

Thanksgiving Day has become a growing and meaningful celebration for Tawas Wellness (TW), beginning with our very first Turkey Trot in 2023. That year was a milestone for us—not only was it our first as an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit, but it was also the first time since 2019 that we were able to offer year-round fitness programming to the Tawas area.

The following year, our Turkey Day traditions expanded with the addition of our new space at The Collective. In honoring the legacy of its former owners, The Knights of Columbus, we felt called to continue their long-standing tradition of offering a free Thanksgiving meal. We served roughly 300 people that year, and we expected to do about the same this time around.

But this year brought a delightful twist. Our Turkey Trot—now hosted at The Collective—nearly doubled in size, while Thanksgiving supper attendance was lower than anticipated. Thankfully, we had plenty of helping hands for both events. There were a few hiccups, as always, and we learned from each of them. Next year will only be better!

A special thank-you goes out to the IRESA culinary students for their turkey-cooking expertise. Their energy and enthusiasm filled our kitchen all week long. In appreciation, Tawas Wellness donated $500 to their program, along with 8 Warrior Passes for the participating students and their Chef to join our classes and use our space.

In total, we raised approximately $4,000—funds that will go directly toward keeping The Collective warm and cozy throughout the winter months. This support strengthens our growing Wellness Warrior community and helps keep us healthy, connected, and strong as we look toward another amazing year ahead.
